This is a "slip" test on 4 inch square, unpinned columns

 to determine slip resistance when anchored in concrete.

More than 4,500 lbs. of weight are being held by the

column. Weights are added to the unit until the column

"slips" from the grasp of  the concrete cylinder or a desired

maximum weight is obtained.
