In this test of a competitor's frame, the weakest point is where the tube was drilled at the factory for bolting a purlin to the bow. Note how the tube has failed at the bolt hole. Another view of the same test shows that the tube has split open right at the bolt hole. It was test results such as these that caused Jaderloon to develop its cross connector in 1978 to increase greenhouse frame strength.
When cheap initial price becomes high cost  This frame is a "real- world" example of the value of engineering. Note how the bow has failed at the point where TEK screws were used to attach a pipe clamp to hold the purlin. This failure repeated at each bow for the length of the greenhouse. Jaderloon's cross connector was designed 20 years ago to prevent failures such as those shown above.
