Jaderloon was founded 31 years ago by Clemson University engineering graduates Don Looney and Dan Derrick. Don and Dan believed that they could design and build a higher quality, engineered greenhouse for the horticultural industry.

They succeeded admirably.

To name the company, Don and Dan wanted to choose something that would be unique. The name Jaderloon had originated while they were at Clemson to name their living quarters. They used letters from the three roommates last names, Jager/Derrick/Looney.

After starting with only a garage office and one employee, Sandra Derrick-Dan’s wife, in Irmo, SC, Jaderloon is today one of the largest manufacturers of greenhouses in North America. Jaderloon manufacturers greenhouses ranging in widths from 8 feet to 42 feet. Whether you want a small hobby greenhouse or several acres of greenhouse, Jaderloon can supply it.

All Jaderloon designs are thoroughly tested to make sure they perform to industry standards. Jaderloon is the only company in the industry that does destructive testing of its frame designs. Engineering excellence is a requirement at Jaderloon. 

In 1997, Jaderloon expanded its product base by acquiring Metro Nursery Vehicles (now Met Carts) near Fort Worth, Texas. The new plant manufactures nursery carts and wagons and is adding greenhouses to its production capabilities.

Jaderloon is a leader in product innovation. Many of its innovations are now used throughout the industry ranging from the cross-connector for holding frames together to its unique, new, patented roll-A-roof retractable roof system. Roll-A-roof retracts virtually 100% of the roof off of the greenhouse for extraordinary ventilation. It is the only retractable roof system that seals tightly and inflates for winter heating.
